BASIANI
Georgian polyphonic song

The Basiani chorus was created in 2000, to revive the sung traditions of this mythical country where Jason and the Argonauts came to seek the famous Golden Fleece. These a capella male voices scintillate in a mosaic of robust and full sounds to tell the legends, the joys and the pains of a people who knew how to keep alive the richness of their musical traditions. Hymns emanating from Byzantine and Syrian worship, songs of work and songs of rejoicing strike us with their depth and nobility.
